Top 5 Reasons to Visit London for a Staycation

Travelling abroad is considered a little risky now - so we have you covered! In this blog, we go through our top tips on why your next ‘staycation’ should be at our London Hotel in King’s Cross!

Iconic Sights

This is the first obvious one! Everything you associate with London can be seen just one tube ride away from our London hotel. Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, The London Eye, bright red busses and telephone boxes, they’re all here! Perfect for a great photo opportunity.

Museums Galore!

There’s nothing like wandering around London’s vast array of museums and galleries to learn about the heritage of London and Great Britain itself. The Natural History Museum, The Victoria and Albert museum and the London National Gallery (just to name a few!) are all easily accessed from our hotel next to King’s Cross Station. If you’re visiting any of these during your staycation, please make sure to respect social distancing measures.

Quirky Bars and Brunches

London is chock-full of quirky independent bars and restaurants. When they’re eventually open to the public, why not have your experience be a memorable one at a themed venue? The Moonshine Saloon offers a western cocktail experience (yee-haw!), the West End Musical Brunch attracts musical theatre fans from around the world, and the Mind Palace offers a Sherlock Holmes-inspired immersive experience!

Sip like a Brit at Afternoon Tea!

Are you even British if you’ve not drank British tea in London? Of course it’s on this list - we are nothing without our tea! Why not sit down to a delicate Afternoon Tea at any of the many tea rooms in London. We recommend the Mad Hatter’s Afternoon Tea when it reopens!

Park Life

All the people, so many people, and they all go to London parks! Why not take a stroll around one of our many stunning parks and people-watch? It’s one of our favourite pastimes here at our King’s Cross hotel! See what the other half of Britain gets up to in their downtime down south!

Comfort Inn Kings Cross Reviews

Sarah,

London

I stayed here in December on business and it was really good, excellent location near Kings cross. It's on a quiet street has excellent security and the room was great. It was one of the comfiest beds I have stayed in for a while! Great pillows, warm but not too stuffy and plenty of storage with a large walk in shower.

It's a old building and I had a basement room which was really good, very clean, big bathroom and great attention to detail. It was a very good price which had worried me but honestly I can't recommend it enough. Would absolutely stay again and would recommend it as a good option for business and leisure.

Heacham, Norfolk

We required a hotel for a one night theatre visit, we found this and were very happy with both the price and quality. The room was excellent with the breakfast more than adequate. The hotel is about five to ten minutes walk from Kings Cross Station with its excellent underground facilities. The hotel allowed us to drop off our overnight bag during our trip so we were free to walk around unhindered, overall very good. Would certainly use again.

Joanna,

Coalville

I stayed in this hotel with my daughter when she needed to catch the Eurostar early in the morning. The room was clean and comfortable with a good shower en suite. Unfortunately my daughter was not able to have breakfast before she had to go and check in for her train, but the hotel is so conveniently close to St Pancras station that I was able to go back for my own breakfast once she had left. There was a good variety of food on offer. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel for the price I paid.

Penelope,

Vancouver

Good price, clean and smart room with a decent continental breakfast. Very quiet location. Very close to King's Cross / St Pancras stations so very handy for getting to Scotland or the Midlands. The Tube runs from Heathrow directly to king's Cross. Easy to get around London from here, by bus or Tube.

Leslie,

Manchester

I was expecting something basic for the price but was pleasantly surprised. For £70 per night this was very good, not easy to find a decent room for this price right in the middle of London. The room was spotlessly clean and very nicely done out with modern, good quality fittings. There were all the extras you need including hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities, TV, alarm clock and even a fan, which was very welcome given the temperature. Their was also AC in the room so this wasn't essential but a nice touch. The room had all the other usual things you would expect, TV, good shower and very comfortable bed.

Breakfast (continental) was functional but very good with plenty on offer. It was clean and an attentive waitress was watching over to make sure everything was regularly topped up and cleaned. Reception staff were very friendly and for some reason I was upgraded to a double room which was a pleasant surprise. All in all a very good find and I will definitely be using this again for business or short trips to London.

Sarah,

Lincolnshire

We stayed at this hotel for one night following our return from Paris via Eurostar. I had been a bit confused by the name 'Comfort Inn', thinking it would be a modern building, but in fact it is a conversion of several old terrace houses in St Chad's Street.

Our room was comfortable with a window that thankfully opened. We can never understand why some places seal their windows shut - we like to get some air into our room. So that was a plus. Also the tea and coffee making facilities and the excellent shower. We liked the (included) breakfast, too, and would definitely stay here again.

Bush,

York

Stayed for one night with my son for a sight seeing weekend. Reception staff were more than helpful and very polite. The twin room had everything that was needed and was exceptionally clean. Less than 5 minute walk from Kings Cross. Would definitely stay here again.

Gemma,

Blyth

£90 for a single room including breakfast 2 mins walk from Kings Cross station, complete bargain. The room was very clean, newly decorated, and had a comfy bed, large shower, blackout curtains, air-con, TV, tea/coffee/biscuits and a hairdryer. For the price I was very impressed and would recommend highly. Front desk staff were top class too even when confronted with a slightly tipsy check in at 12:30 at night!

Ann,

Hartlepool

Myself and eleven others stayed here in six twin rooms in February. We were all pleasantly surprised by how nice the rooms were. Modern, clean and everything we wanted.

Breakfast was self service continental down in the basement with a good choice. All in all could not fault it. Ideally situated near Kings Cross.

Christoph,

Hong Kong

This hotel is very friendly and has helpful receptionists. They will also look after your luggage after check out. You can pick up your stuff just before departure with Eurostar.

The room is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast is excellent and the staff in the breakfast room are quick to serve you in a friendly manner. In summary the hotel is excellent for a short term stay!
